DVD and its USES
DVD is a highly versatile medium, it can be used to carry any form of digital information. The great advantage of DVD is its enormous data capacity. There are four types of DVD discs, with a maximum capacity of 17.08 Gbyte. Apart from these four types with a size of 12 cm, 8 cm discs can be produced with a smaller data capacity. The format's uses currently include DVD Video, containing film with superior quality video plus audio and DVD Rom, containing computer files, programmes, games and multimedia. DVD Rom will soon replace the CD Rom drives in personal computers, enabling users to watch high quality video on their PC, connect to television sets and still be able to play their old CD Rom titles.
